Dht week reflection
15/11/19
The 1 thing I learnt appears to be about my country. We have been doing a country project for our learning till the end of week 5 or 6. My country that I have been focusing on China, I've been researching and researching about it. I even got fascinated by things I didn't know.
1 thing I need to work on is Respect, whenever we have relievers I go straight to "I don't wanna learn anything" mode. So in short, I need to pay attention when the teacher is speaking and be on task.
1 thing I enjoyed about school? I guess the beach trip was fun. We got to go swimming, play games and learn CPR. I hope it counts as a school activity.

Dht Beach Trip

Did we have a beach trip? Why would I forget about that, I didn't bring my togs or anything. Thank god for my PE clothes though, I was about to be the only one with my uniform on. No one had any clue for what we were doing. Are we going for a swim? Are we doing surf life saving? Yes, we are doing all of that. We meet up inside the club and got introduced to Lisa, Cassie, Sophrose and Damein. Also Kirsty. They were really nice and really comedic too, but often a bit strict.
Alright, first thing we did is CPR which was simple. We learnt DRS ABC and how to sense a rip, rips a important so. Rips are stronger currents of waves that could drown you. There are 3 ways of sensing one of these bad boys, 1 is crisscross, second is calm then the third is Debris. For further information, we basically did a "dance". CPR / DRS / ABC, that is not so simple.
Gamers, it's on! Round one Wheatbix eating comp, it was not pleasant at all it was dry, soggy and gross. Round 2 Pyramid building, went horrible and I didn't even do squat. Round 3 Chubby bunny, oi that was my favourite it was hilarious I couldn't stop laughing. Final round, Flag I didn't win but that's okay.
Last activity, SWIMMING! We took the boogie boards and rid the waves. Sure, I was drenched in my PE clothes and no togs. The water was salty and cold, I learnt and got used to it though. We went back to the college at 2:30 and hung out until it was home time.
I had fun and I'm pretty sure everyone else did too.

R.O.A.R Blog part 2
R.O.A.R is Otaki college's slogan, it brings the community together.
It is what make's Otaki college Kia Kaha and a welcoming home/school.
R-respect: Being respectful is important towards people and other things. Showing best behaviour to your superior and others brings up a good reputation and a good image on yourself.
O-OC Pride: OC Pride shows who you are at Otaki college. You are showing pride towards your community and the college. Wearing your school uniform (almost) everyday is an example.
A-Active Learner: The meaning of active learning is working well in your work environment (school). Being up to date (something I can't do) and always doing your best.
R-Responsible: Responsible is kinda important too, it shows how you handle things. One example is wearing your uniform to school everyday. It's really not that difficult once you get into habit.

The 1 thing I have to work on? So, my class Dht is loud most of the time. Then what should I do about it? Concentrate on myself, i'm one for talking a lot too. My lack of focus is behind, which is really bad and need training on it.
1 goal, I have a fair few of goals but my biggest is to get used to a new environment. I well know that i'm leaving OC, that people are considering betrayal. I've been to the new school a couple of times like visits and interviews, I guess i'm handling it pretty good so far.
One more thing, a needed improvement. So, ever heard of overdue work? Yep, no one cares. I occasionally do, I always tell myself to do it at home. But I can't. Keeping up to my homework due dates, is basically what i'm saying.

Labour Weekend

Note: This actually happened, I just like writing it as a personal experience novel.
(Because it was so dramatic.)
One extraordinary Saturday, we come across a little short girl addressed as Michelle. She had only been minding her own business until, wa-ping! A message popped up on her phone. "My, my, what information does this fellow citizen have for me now?" sarcastically said Michelle. Note: Do not respond to random messages strangers send you. (Of course the small minded main character did not take that note.) The message was written out as, "Dear Eliza, I know you are not in the mood to talk to me, but I wanted to let you know that i'm sorry. I still wish for us to be together again, and will never cheat on you ever again. Please respond, Felix."
"EXCUSE ME?!" with a laughing manner Michelle screamed. So, what did Michelle do? Did she, A: Leave the message alone, B: Reply to the poor guy that he got the wrong number, or C: She pretended to be "Eliza". Yes, it was C who would've known. Who in the right mind would do this a innocent man who happened to make a simple mistake, Michelle would. The reply text that Eliza responded with goes like this. Ahem, "Felix, I am deeply sorry. The day after we broke up I started to see someone else. Which is why we can't be together, I accept your apology but not your feelings. Goodbye."
How depressing and evil.
The response? Is what you'd expect, like in all caps "WHO IS THIS MAN?!" "WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS?!" A few angry emojis and so on. How would you react to a message or similar one like that? I'll tell you, the secret behind Michelle's antics were... Nothing, just don't respond. Which is how Michelle gets her evilness flowing within her actions, totally not a bad thing.
Oh boy, the next day? Man it was like a copy of the previous day, guess what the notifications count was? 100+, i'm not even kidding I wish I can show you a screenshot right now. However the problem wasn't the fact that he basically spammed, no, no, no. They were pictures, and some were a little to showing hint hint. How about a reply to add insult to the damage? Yeah! Sounds like a fantastic idea! No, i'm kidding I wanted to end the spam it was annoying. But the twist was, he didn't stop. Even when I told him it was the wrong number, the messages/pictures wouldn't stop.
I will definitely continue this experience, but unfortunately I can't. Maybe next time....perhaps?

OC R.O.A.R
This week wasn't really crazy fun or exciting, I missed Monday and Wednesday of school so I really don't have any thing to say. I guess the most fun I had was on Thursday when I went to the dentist. I must have rally bad teeth because I was told to get 6 fillings next week.
The one thing I think I need to focus on is that my lack of doing assignments, i'm really bad on returning my work on its due date. So what I need to do is do all my work without being distracted.

Holiday Writing
I didn't really do much at home or at work, but there were some things that happened. First things first, about half of my holiday was basically working but I can't really complain at least I get paid. Second half was actually me sleeping at home, being a lonely pig.
I'm not that lonely, I got friends? Yeah I decided to do a meetup with Kanita, Brooklyn and some others which I do not know. We didn't really do much except go to Haruetai park, being bush Maoris and scootering around the skate park.
That is really all I remember, there wasn't any other good moments in my holiday except hanging out with my friends. Which I think everyone did besides travelling.

Ordinary Weekend Shenanigans

A start of a new Saturday morning, the girl played her netball game and won. Her mum wanted to go down to Lower Hutt mall for celebration. Lower Hutt mall was a popular mall s it was a perfect place. They drove in, already to a bad start to find NO parking at all. They spend the last 30 minutes looking for a spot. Would you look at that, the mall is packed full. I completely lost my patients, because the stores were all full.

Maths PS reflection
1. In maths problem solving, I've learn't how to use time settings and some basic addition.
2. Somethings that I need to work on is that I need confidence to present to the whole class. One day i'll need that confidence, because the person presenting can't be the presenter forever.

Improvement
After presenting our Group Maths Problem solving slideshows and our own Reading Journal slideshows I learnt that:
1 thing that was good about my/our presentation was:
Maths: That we all agreed that our slideshow was ready and no one argued.
Reading: It was the only thing that made me want to finish.

Maths: There was a hacker or something messing up our presentation.
Reading: I couldn't understand the questions sometimes.

Maths: There's nothing I can think of really.

Tupaia
Who is Tupaia?
Tupaia was a famous master high priest and navigator. Who made famous around the world discoveries with Captain Cook.
Where did he come from?
He was born in Raiatea, French Polynesia.
What was he well known for?
Tupaia travelled around the world discovering islands, some of his adventures were with Captain Cooks.
Why was he in New Zealand?
He was travelling with Cook because he wanted to make peace with tribes, his role was a navigator and translator.
What happened to Tupaia?
Tupaia died of Malaria and pneumonia. They're both life threatening diseases.
I think Tupaia made fascinating discoveries and his death was very tragic.

(Future) Holiday
Why did I name my title future holiday you may ask. The thing is that my parents don't agree on going to quote on quote holiday mode, if you know what I mean. Well obviously you don't know, meaning I have to work all day everyday at the shop (Sunlong.) *Sigh* do you really want to know what I do in my free time? I'll tell you a secret I actually write horror story's, I would send a link but it's not fully finished. So back to the point of this post, I really want to go to Rotorua. To only visit my cousins and taking a break from working.

Rocket Challenge Improved Launch
By improving our rocket we put on 4 equal fins, a nose cone and a little bit of drawing design. We also had the settings on change. Last time we launched it was put on 59 psi (pressure) and 250 ml of water. On Friday 14 June (launch date) Daniel suggested that we do 300 ml of water. Of course we took the challenge, Ella really wanted us to do 60 PSI this time.
While preparing our launch we didn't have any trouble who was doing what, although what I think wasn't being handled properly was a count down. It was messed up but we launched it. I have a video of the launch but I can't transfer it on my blog. Our rocket wing came off and Ella basically demolished parts of the rocket, it's fine.

TEachers Strike Day?

Teachers strike day, it is the day where all teachers protest about their teaching for kids. It all started when primary and secondary school teachers took part in a "mega strike" on May 29 following months of stalled discussions, and a series of rejected pay offers. Not only that but on Tuesday 4th of June It wasn't about the pay, it was about the education they were being treated with. They say it causes more effort in work. I agree with all those protesting because it isn't fair on the children and teachers. I want a better education for me and all the other students. The teachers have the right to do this. I hope this will change the governments mind.

Change / Revolution Tour

Can the Revolution Tour be anymore meaningful? Think about it, imagine you being in the most toughest situations like death and tragic events. It could be the most unpleasant of things, that's when our speaker person Ben taught us. With only his little but touching stories.
They starting started with comedy which was brilliant, then they introduced us to three singers and a guitarists that sung us a couple of songs (beginning middle then at the end.) They are really good singers in my opinion.
Last Quote he said was "we make a living by what we get but we make a life by what we give"
Which was a really important quote in one of his stories.
I'm just gonna get to the point, I don't wanna sound like one of those "diary writers" or whatever. But to be honest I really want another show this year at least. I miss their comedy.

Term 1 Vacation
A 2 week Holiday is called a vacation!
(What would your holiday be like if- You had a job, a to-do list, homework and chores. EXCITING RIGHT?! So you have something to actually DO! #getupandstartmoving! Just kidding that was cringe.)
As you all know, holidays are described as a quote on quote VaCaTiOn. It is (sorta) since you don't have school, you get days off work and you get to chill with friends and family. Its just great, when you actually have to help your family's fish n chips shop ALL DAY EVERY DAY! Yes I get food for days, but come on! I get no free time at all, I can't even sleep at night (stayed up till 4 am.)
Honestly for me, it's actually a good thing (IN MY CASE!) since literally, no one and I do mean NO ONE invites for for a hangout. Which is fine with me ,(I'm Gud) at least i have the internet on my side. I get to contact them everyday, so it's fine all good.
To sum up my writing, I literally didn't do anything except running around and dozing off in the wrong places. I actually had a great holiday, THAT FORCED ME INTO WANTING TO GO TO SCHOOL. I felt lonely since I was home alone and bored, school is the reason why you have friends kids. Oh and Education.
